I had a bachelor degree as chemical engineer. After graduation I worked back in Venezuela as production and demand planner for cosmetics and a FMG’s company. My background was very technical and even if I learnt a lot by doing, I felt I had a business and finance understanding knowledge gap.
That’s when I decided to join the MBA program in International business at MIB Trieste School of Management.
The MBA gave me a very solid base not only on finance, economics, and marketing but also very useful insights about what it means to do business abroad, cultural differences, and a special focus on China.
Nowadays I am a sourcing specialist working in a product development team in the IKEA headquarter in Sweden. I represent the cost part of producing new articles for IKEA and have to meet and negotiate with suppliers in China, Vietnam, Europe and North America.
My days at MIB gave me great tools to move into this role and area of expertise feeling quite confident with my understanding of business and navigation kpi’s.
