MIB Trieste School of Management was founded in 1988 as a non-profit Consortium, on the initiative of major companies and the academic world.

Enhance talent, develop skills, strengthen leadership to make people and businesses grow: with this attitude MIB Trieste has been working for over 35 years in Italy and in the world.

The School thrives on its strong international orientation, deep commitment to ethics, continuous dialogue with companies, and engaging teaching approach. These core principles shape our identity and guide our educational approach.

Every year MIB trains young talents from all over the world, qualifies and updates managers, entrepreneurs and management teams from national and multinational companies.

MIB Trieste School of Management is a learning laboratory where participants are guided to achieve their ambitions. Educational Offer

The School targets the postgraduate, post-experience segment of Management Education and develops MBA courses, Specialized Masters, Corporate Masters, Executive MBA programs, accredited both in Italy and abroad.
Additionally, MIB Trieste collaborates with companies to provide customized training solutions, designing tailor-made programs that cater to specific needs and requirements.

All programs are closely connected to the business world and uphold rigorous standards for participant selection, job placement, and career advancement.
The courses are led by an international faculty of trainers, managers, entrepreneurs and professionals.

1988 - 2000

1988 - MIB School of Management Consortium was created on the initiative of major companies and the academic world
1990 - The first edition of our Masters in International Business began
1994 - MIB Master in International Business received ASFOR  (Italian Association for Management Development) accreditation
1994 - The School joined EFMD - European Foundation for Management Development
1999 - MIB moved to Palazzo Ferdinandeo

2000 - 2005

2000 - Master in Insurance & Risk Management – MIRM’s first edition
2001 - Origini Program’s first edition -  aimed at the descendants of those who emigrated from Friuli Venezia Giulia
2003 - The Master in International Business became MBA in International Business and switched to the English language
2003 - Executive MBA – EMBA’s first edition; MIRM received ASFOR accreditation
2004 - Diploma MBA Honoris Causa to Mario Draghi
2004 - Internationalization of MIRM and switch to the English language
 

2005 - 2010

2005 - Opening of the Rome edition of the Executive MBA in cooperation with Istituto Tagliacarne
2006 - AMBA accreditation ( Association of MBAs) for the MBA in International Business and the Executive MBA
2006 - EPAS Accreditation  (EFMD Program Accreditation System) for the Master in Insurance & Risk Management
2008 - The first Executive Master in Insurance & Finance - EMIF was launched
2009 - The first Corporate Master in Insurance & Risk Management began
2010 - Prof. Vladimir Nanut was appointed Chairman of ASFOR
2010 - The new multi-purpose Pavilion was inagurated

2010 - 2018

2014 - The MBA and EMBA programs were accredited by AMBA for 5 years more
2014 - The Executive Master in Insurance & Finance gets the national accreditation by ASFOR-Association for Management Education
2015 - MIB signed a strategic partnership with Generali Group and launched the Corporate Master in Insurance Management

2015 - 2020

2016 - The Origini program became Origini Italia, allowing the descendants of the emigrants from the whole Italy to enroll
2016 - MIB expanded its distance learning activities in collaboration with S.S. Anna, Simulware and Knauf Group 2017
2017 - MIB became partner with the Generali Group Academy in the GATE project - Generali Advanced Technical Education
2017 - MIB Faculty Committee awards the MBA Honoris Causa to Giuseppe Bono, CEO of Fincantieri.
2018 - MIB celebrated its 30th anniversary and changed its name to MIB Trieste School of Management
2019 - MIB Trieste establishes the new DemoLab, the Laboratory on Demographic Trends, supported by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Generali Group and Allianz.
2019 - New strategic partnerships for the School: SISSA - International School of Advanced Studies - enters the MIB Consortium, besides two more companies (Cattolica Assicurazioni and Esteco).
2020 - MIB Trieste, in partnership with Venture Factory, Galileo Visionary District, McKinsey Digital Capability Center launches the first edition of the new Executive MBA in Business Innovation.
2020 - The School develops the new hybrid integrated learning system, allowing on-campus sessions, attended synchronously by participants online, ensuring a perfect interaction between trainers, classroom and on-distance participants.
 

2024 - 2025

2021 - Cristiano Borean, CFO Generali Group, is the new Chairman of MIB Trieste. Vladimir Nanut, School’s founder and past Dean, becomes CEO, handing over the Dean role to Andrea Tracogna.
2021- The School is co-founder of the Data Science & Artificial Intelligence Institute, with Generali Group, Sissa, Ictp, the University of Trieste and the University of Udine.
2021- The MIB Trieste Consortium welcomes 4 new members, including Cimolai (world leader in steel structures) and the Port of Trieste.
2022 - The School is partner with Generali and the other research centers of the Region for the Business Translator educational project.
2022 - MIB Trieste School of Management is confirmed within the inner circle of business schools that are accredited by AMBA-Association of MBAs (only 2% around the world).
2022 - The Master in Insurance & Risk Management gets the EFMD accreditation again, by the European Foundation for Management Development.
2023 - The new Executive Program in Agile Management is launched, aimed at managers and entrepreneurs who want to open up to innovative skills.
2023 - The Master in Insurance & Risk Management rises to #3 position in the World Ranking of Eduniversal - Insurance, Risk & Actuarial Sciences category.
2023 - MBA in International Business #2 in Italy and top 30 in Europe for its Return on Investment.
2023 - Establishment of the Centre for Insurance Research (CIR) “Ermanno Pitacco
2024 - The MIB Foundation ETS is established as a non-profit organization with civic, solidarity, and social utility purposes, linked to the activities of MIB Trieste School of Management.
2025 - The Agorai (AI) Foundation and Innovation Hub are established, with MIB as founding member
