MARKETING MANAGEMENT
Professor Melika Husić-Mehmedović holds a PhD from the School of Economics and Business Sarajevo on the topic of "Lifestyle and Luxury Consumption." She graduated an MBA (Master of Business Administration) at the School of Economics, University of Zagreb. Currently, she teaches courses on Consumer Behavior and Marketing Management. Experienced in teaching she has improved through schools, seminars and workshops for teachers, such as the Faculty Development Initiative at the University of Alberta or the International Management Teachers Academy at the Bled School of Management. In 2009, she spent a semester at George Washington University in the United States as part of the Junior Faculty Development Program. She completed a summer school at the Wirtschaftsuniversität in Vienna, Austria, and graduated from the London School of Public Relations (LSPR).
Melika participated in a number of international and national projects, consulted for companies and held many business-oriented seminars. In 2005-2008 she was PR manager at the School of Economics and Business in Sarajevo. She held numerous leadership positions in higher education, including Vice Dean for Academic Affairs (2009-2012) and Executive Director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Sarajevo (2017-2020). Finally, she held the position of Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth in the Government of Sarajevo Canton in 2021.
Her research interests include luxury consumption, luxury branding, and neuromarketing research. She has published articles in Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management, Social Indicators Research, British Food Journal and others. Melika has presented papers in over 30 international conferences, including EMAC, ACR, and Macromarketing, and has published 10 books or chapters in international books.
