The 13th edition of the Program in Wine Business Management is underway: the MIB Trieste School of Management's initiative for those leading wine businesses and operating in the wine sector.
Despite the challenges the industry is facing – from declining consumption to tariffs and international tensions – the Program strengthens its position as a reference point for wine business leaders and professionals across the value chain.
This year's cohort brings together 21 participants: owners of historic wineries, emerging producers and family estates (from Cantine Ferraris in the Langhe to Ruffino, from Kozlovic in Istria to Tenute Demontis in Sardegna), winemakers, brand managers, export managers, and professionals from specialized distribution and hospitality.
A mix of young leaders preparing for generational transition and senior professionals looking to develop advanced management tools to tackle market challenges.
Participants bring different perspectives and will share concrete experiences from regions spanning from Veneto to Sicily, from Piemonte to Puglia, from Friuli-Venezia Giulia to Croatia.
Massimo Tuzzi, one of the most recognized and influential managers in the Italian wine sector, serves as Mentor for this edition. A key figure in the growth of Gruppo Zonin, where he was DG and CEO, Tuzzi is now CEO of Gruppo Terra Moretti, a holding company active in wine, hospitality, and construction, where he is leading the management transformation process, generational transition, and strategic development.
Tuzzi launched the new edition with an opening session, in conversation with Pierpaolo Penco, Director of MIB's Wine Area, and Giulio Somma, Director of Corriere Vinicolo.
During the inaugural week, the program also featured Lulie Halstead, as Guest Speaker – one of the most prominent and influential figures globally in wine strategy and marketing, co-founder of Wine Intelligence, Non-Executive Director of IWSR Drinks Market Analysis, academic and leading expert in communication.
Since 2002, MIB Trieste School of Management has been a pioneer in Italy in executive education dedicated to wine management.
Over the years, the programs – coordinated by Pierpaolo Penco – have evolved to better respond to the needs of the sector and wine businesses. The Executive Program in Wine Business Management is designed to provide the managerial and technical skills needed to operate in the sector and lead wine companies, navigating complex foreign markets, new management and distribution models, and understanding sales strategies and evolving consumption patterns.
The program is divided into two tracks, which can also be attended individually: one focused on Wine Marketing and Sales, the other on Wine Business Management.
Both tracks have a strong managerial focus, developing strategic thinking, organizational development, and change management capabilities relevant to wine businesses.
