He is President and CEO of Samer & Co. Shipping S.p.A., one of Italy’s leading logistics operators headquartered in Trieste, with a network of subsidiaries across Southeast Europe.
Founded in 1919, the company operates as a shipping agent and broker, port terminal operator, international freight forwarder, and average adjuster. Since 1932, it has also served as the appointed agent of Lloyd’s of London.
Since 1987, he has overseen the operation of the “Motorway of the Sea,” a key intermodal transport corridor connecting Europe and Turkey via the Port of Trieste. The model integrates sea, road, rail, and air freight solutions, handling over 350,000 heavy vehicles annually.
He has served as Honorary Consul General of Turkey since 1998.
On June 2, 2024, he was awarded the honorary title of "Cavaliere del Lavoro" by the President of the Italian Republic.
