Roberto Pugliese is the Deputy General Coordinator and Director of ICT at Elettra-Sincrotrone Trieste S.C.p.A..
A computer scientist by background, he holds an MBA, a PhD in Managerial and Actuarial Sciences, and is a PMP-certified project manager with 25 years of experience. He has also completed the Executive Program at Singularity University.
Roberto’s expertise spans project management, digital innovation, artificial intelligence and start-up development. His research focuses on remote operations, telepresence, data science, robotics and Artificila Intelligence, with publications in Springer books on grid technologies, instrumentation, distributed computing, and journals such as Journal of Synchrotron Radiation, Nuclear Instruments and Methods, Management Decision, and Journal of Business Research.
Roberto has co-founded three companies: Tripole Scientific S.r.l., in the field of scientific computing, LyL-Projects S.r.l., an SME specializing in "intelligent" vending machines and VisionQub.it, a start-up in AI and robotics. He also served as a Global Ambassador for Singularity University and co-founded the SU Trieste Chapter. Roberto is now owner of PerlConsulting (perlconsulting.it) and the president of the volunteer organisation Glioblastoma.it ODV.
