Roberto Pinton is the Rector of the University of Udine, Italy.
He Graduated in Agricultural Sciences, and he's Ph.D. in Productivity of Cultivated Plants at the University of Padua.
At the University of Udine, he is full professor of Agricultural Chemistry (2001 to present).
He also held the following institutional roles:
- Member of the Board of Directors and member of the Academic Senate
- Director of the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences
- Dean of the Agricultural Faculty
- Deputy Rector and Deputy Rector for Research
Roberto Pinton is a member of the Italian Society of Agricultural Chemistry – SICA (Past-President 2018-19, President 2016-17, Vice-President 2013-15) and he is a member of the Steering Committee of the Italian Federation of Life Sciences and member of the International Humic Substances Society (IHSS). He is on the list of experts of CREA (Council for Agricultural Research and Analysis of Agricultural Economics) of the Italian Ministry of Agricultural Food and Forestry.
He is the author of 91 scientific papers in indexed journals, 15 book chapters, and 130 congress presentations. He has presented lectures at national and international institutions and congresses.
He has been responsible and coordinator of research projects at national and international levels.
Over the years, he acquired specific expertise in the field of plant nutrition, developing his research activity on soil-plant relationships and on the study of the soil-root interface (rhizosphere). In particular, the research activity is focused on function and regulation of the molecular mechanisms responsible for the acquisition of nutrients in plants to improve the efficient and sustainable use of nutrients in crops.
