Nino Savelli
Full Professor of Risk Theory in the Faculty of Banking, Financial and Insurance Sciences
Catholic University of Sacred Heart in Milan - Italy
Since 2009, he is teaching courses at the Master in Insurance and Risk Management at MIB, including a part of the ERM course focused on Solvency II and non-life underwriting risk.
Nino Savelli got a Ph.D. in Actuarial Sciences from La Sapienza University in Rome.
In his academic research, he focused on topics related to solvency of insurance companies and pension funds. In particular, he studied the development of risk capital models aimed to analyze the underwriting risk both in life and non-life insurance.
From 2013 to 2016, he has been academic member of EIOPA Insurance & Reinsurance Stakeholder Group and since 2016 he has been appointed President of Vatican Pension Fund.
He is also consulting actuary and founded the actuarial firm “Studio Attuariale Savelli” in 1999. Since March 2016, he is co-founder partner of “Studio De Angelis – Savelli & Associati”.
