On 8 October, MIB Trieste School of Management will host the first edition of the Barcolana AI Sea Summit, Barcolana’s new event dedicated to artificial intelligence and its applications in everyday life, innovation and the maritime world.

Supported by the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Summit is designed to make complex and increasingly relevant topics accessible to a broad, non-specialist audience. Through a series of short talks, experts from different fields will explore the opportunities, applications and implications of AI, from data security and innovation to navigation, healthcare, environmental protection and decision-making at sea. “Artificial intelligence has become an essential element for businesses, organisations and for those of us working in management education,” said Vladimir Nanut, CEO of MIB Trieste School of Management. “Our role is to help people and organisations understand and make the most of the opportunities these new tools provide.”

The day will also include the presentation of the principles of the Trieste Manifesto for Artificial Intelligence and the Sustainability of the Sea, while the Barcolana AI Sea Hackathon will launch a challenge focused on developing solutions for the marine environment and sustainability.
