On 14 and 15 September, MIB Trieste School of Management will host and co-promote the SEE Observatory Youth Forum and Annual Forum, two events focused on accelerating the Western Balkans’ path towards European integration and strengthening the role of younger generations in shaping the region’s future.

On 14 and 15 September 2026, Trieste will host the two annual events of the South East Europe Observatory (SEE Observatory), established through a partnership between Fondazione Luigi Einaudi and MIB Trieste School of Management, with the support of Open Society Foundations – Western Balkans and Generali. The Observatory is based at MIB Trieste’s Palazzo Ferdinandeo.

In Trieste, the home of the Observatory, the two events will bring together Italian and European institutions and young delegations from across the region.
Two days, two complementary formats: the Youth Forum, dedicated to the next generation and hosted at MIB Trieste on 14 September, followed by the Annual Forum on 15 September at the Ridotto del Teatro Verdi, with the participation of Antonio Tajani, Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

14 September | SEE Observatory Youth Forum – MIB Trieste School of Management

From 15:00 to 18:00, Palazzo Ferdinandeo will host the SEE Observatory Youth Forum, bringing together young people from Friuli Venezia Giulia, delegations from across the Western Balkans and representatives of the United World College. The Forum will build on the experience of the 2026 Liberal Dialogues and create a working network among young people around European integration and regional cooperation.
The event will open with Andrea Cangini, Director of the SEE Observatory, and Andrea Tracogna, Dean of MIB Trieste and Board Member of the Observatory. The afternoon will conclude with a collaborative workshop in which participants will identify priorities and themes to help shape the 2027 Liberal Dialogues.

15 September | The SEE Observatory Annual Forum – Ridotto del Teatro Verdi

“Accelerating Western Balkan integration: a strategic choice for Europe’s future” is the theme of the SEE Observatory Annual Forum, with the participation of Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister of Italy and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The Forum will bring together ministers, academics, institutional representatives and students from across the SEE Observatory’s geographical area to discuss the future of European integration, liberal values and regional cooperation.
During the event, the SEE Observatory Scholarship for MIB Trieste’s MBA in International Business will also be awarded.
