Dialogue, education and cooperation for South East Europe and its path towards European integration.
The South East Europe Observatory was established through a partnership between Fondazione Luigi Einaudi and MIB Trieste School of Management, which hosts the Observatory at Palazzo Ferdinandeo in Trieste, with the support of Open Society Foundations and Generali.
Founded in 2026, the Observatory has a clear mission: to foster dialogue across South East Europe, strengthen exchange among institutions, leaders and civil society, and support the European integration process of Western Balkan countries that are not yet members of the European Union.
The Observatory promotes international dialogue and educational initiatives focused on South East Europe, bringing together institutions, universities, businesses, civil society and younger generations around the issues shaping the region’s development and European future.
Its geographical focus extends from Italy through Slovenia and Croatia to the Western Balkans.
For MIB Trieste, the South East Europe Observatory builds on a commitment that has shaped the School for more than thirty years: contributing to the development of a region that is strategic to Europe’s future by investing in people, skills and education as drivers of lasting change.
