
Enrico Samer, President and CEO of Samer & Co. Shipping, has been appointed as a new member of the Board of Directors of MIB Trieste School of Management. He succeeds Zeno D’Agostino in this role, joining the School’s main governance body.
The Board expressed its appreciation to Zeno D’Agostino for his years of contribution to the School’s growth.
The Board of MIB Trieste is chaired by Cristiano Borean, CFO of Generali Group, with Giacomo Campora, CEO of Allianz S.p.A., serving as Vice Chair. Other members include Vladimir Nanut (CEO of the School), Camilla Benedetti (Vice President, Danieli Group), Diego De Giorgi (Group CFO, Standard Chartered PLC), Cristian Fabbri (Executive Chairman, Hera Group), Pierroberto Folgiero (CEO, Fincantieri S.p.A.), Alberta Gervasio (Chair, Civibank S.p.A.), Andrea Illy (Chair, Illycaffè S.p.A.), and Stefano Venier (former CEO, SNAM S.p.A.). Andrea Tracogna (Dean of MIB) and Francesco Venier (Dean of Executive Education) serve as permanent invitees.

Enrico Samer is President and CEO of Samer & Co. Shipping S.p.A., one of Italy’s leading logistics operators, headquartered in Trieste and active across Southeast Europe through a network of subsidiaries. Founded in 1919, the company operates as a shipping agent and broker, port terminal operator, international freight forwarder, and average adjuster. Since 1932, it has served as agent for Lloyd’s of London.
Since 1987, the company has managed the “Motorway of the Sea” service connecting Europe and Turkey via the Port of Trieste, through an integrated intermodal model that includes sea, road, rail, and air transport, handling over 350,000 heavy vehicles annually.
Samer has served as Honorary Consul General of Turkey since 1998 and was awarded the honorary title of Cavaliere del Lavoro by the President of the Italian Republic on 2 June 2024.
