
It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of our esteemed Board Member, Mr. Diego De Giorgi, to a prominent role as the Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO) of Standard Chartered PLC, a renowned London-based financial institution boasting assets totalling 800 billion on its balance sheet.
Furthermore, from the first quarter of 2024, De Giorgi will assume the role of Group Executive Director (GED), reporting directly to the Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Bill Winters.
Standard Chartered PLC is a financial giant: with 83,000 employees and a presence in 53 markets, its network serves customers in over 120 markets worldwide. It’s listed on the London and Hong Kong Stock Exchanges.
The School is honoured to have De Giorgi on its Board: Diego is developing a distinguished career and, at the age of 53, has encompassed pivotal leadership positions.
Most recently, he served as the Co-CEO of Pegasus, Europe's largest special purpose acquisition company. Prior to this role, he assumed the position of Non-Executive Director at UniCredit S.p.A. Notably, he spent nearly seven years in leadership roles at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Diego embarked on his remarkable career journey in 1994, joining Goldman Sachs at the young age of 24, ultimately ascending to Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the firm's Investment Banking division.
