Group Chief Financial Officer, Standard Chartered PLC
Diego De Giorgi has served as Standard Chartered’s Group Chief Financial Officer since January 2024. He has more than three decades of experience in the global financial services sector.
Diego spent 18 years at Goldman Sachs – eight as Partner – holding leadership roles in the Equity Capital Markets Group and the Financial Institutions Group before becoming the Chief Operating Officer for the Global Investment Banking division.
Following this, he moved to Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he spent six years, rising to Head of Global Investment Banking. He served on the Board of Directors at UniCredit as a Non-Executive Director, and was a member of their Compensation Committee, in 2020-2021.
From 2021 to 2023, Diego was the Co-Chief Executive of Pegasus Europe, Europe’s largest-ever special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC), which was focused on the financial services sector and was listed on Euronext Amsterdam.
Diego graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Bocconi University before completing a CEMS master’s degree at the London School of Economics.
