The new Centre for Insurance Research, a Lecture Room and the Scholarships supported by Generali and Allianz will bear his name
MIB Trieste School of Management has paid tribute to the memory of Professor Ermanno Pitacco, an internationally renowned professor in the field of Actuarial Mathematics and Insurance Techniques and pillar of the School's insurance studies area, who passed away last September.
"Thanks to prof. Pitacco, MIB Trieste can now be ranked among the most prestigious business schools in the world in the field of insurance studies - explains Andrea Tracogna, Dean of MIB Trieste School of Management - Supported by his great competence and enthusiasm, the School has developed International Masters for young graduates, Executive Masters for professionals, corporate projects and advanced research in the insurance area, becoming an international point of reference in this sector".
Cristiano Borean, President of MIB Trieste and CFO of the Generali Group, and Giacomo Campora, Vice President of MIB and CEO of Allianz S.p.A., announced the "Ermanno Pitacco" Scholarships, offered by their companies to deserving candidates to the Master in Insurance & Risk Management.
This initiative confirms the close links between MIB Trieste and leading insurance companies, such as Generali and Allianz.
The School has also named after Prof. Pitacco a lecture room in its headquarters and the new Centre for Insurance Research - CIR, a think tank capable of generating knowledge for the insurance sector.
The CIR will develop the activities of the DemoLab, directed by the Prof. Pitacco in the past.
The Centre will be directed by Annamaria Olivieri, one of the first students of Pitacco, now a lecturer of Financial Mathematics and Insurance Techniques at MIB and a Full Professor of Mathematical Methods of Economics and Actuarial and Financial Sciences at the University of Parma.
