MIB Trieste School of Management recently welcomed H.E. Renato Mosca de Souza, Ambassador of Brazil to Italy, for an institutional visit focused on deepening academic and cultural ties between our two countries.
During his visit, the Ambassador met with Vladimir Nanut (MIB’s Founder and CEO), Andrea Tracogna (MIB’s Dean), Francesco Venier (MIB’s Dean for Executive Education), as well as members of MIB Trieste’s Communication team and two Brazilian MIB graduates from the Origini Italia program a special initiative dedicated to students of Italian descent from around the world) — Clarissa Dalia and Aline Sacilotto.
The Ambassador, accompanied by the President of Acobex, Judith Moura de Oliveira, expressed appreciation for the School’s stronginternational outlook and the growing presence of Brazilian students, with over 120 enrolled over the years across various programs.
The meeting opened valuable avenues for collaboration—such as strengthening the Origini Program, expanding engagement in International Master's Programs, and exploring new synergies in the Executive Education space.
In an interview conducted by MIB’s Communications team, Ambassador Mosca offered powerful reflections on the role of education in today’s world:
“Multilateralism is under pressure, and education is one of the few tools we must rebuild trust. When people study and research together, they learn to understand each other. That’s the foundation of peace.”
He stressed that academic collaboration isn’t just about skills — it's about creating lasting networks:
“Studying abroad opens horizons and builds bridges that last a lifetime. For Brazilian students, coming to Italy can be a turning point — personally, professionally, and even culturally, especially for those rediscovering their Italian roots.”
The Ambassador also called for stronger public-private cooperation to support international education:
“With over 1,000 Italian companies active in Brazil, we have a real opportunity to train professionals and strengthen ties between our economies and societies.”
In today’s fragile global context, international academic exchange is vital to rebuild trust and foster shared values. The enduring ties between Italy and Brazil offer a strong platform for meaningful cooperation.
