MIB Trieste School of Management is pleased to announce the celebration of the Graduation Day of the Master in Insurance & Risk Management Class of 2025.
This year, we are delighted to host Giovanni Liverani, Chairman of ANIA – the Italian Association of Insurance Companies. His participation will give our graduates the chance to connect with a leading figure in the industry, whose international experience and forward-looking vision will offer inspiring perspectives on the future of business, finance, and beyond.
There are 14 nationalities represented at this year’s Diploma Ceremony. After a year of intense work, both individually and in teams, the candidates will proudly receive their Master’s Degree – a title accredited by EFMD Global and ranked #6 worldwide in the Eduniversal Global Ranking.
This recognition confirms the program’s compliance with the highest international quality standards, reinforcing its place among the top Master’s programs in management worldwide. Graduates will also be awarded a double degree, offered in collaboration with the University of Trieste.

Liverani holds a University degree (Laurea in Ingegneria, 5 years highest university graduation) in Engineering (Industrial Technologies) from the Politecnico di Milano in Milan. He began his career in 1991 as a Researcher at the Ufficio Studi (R&D Department) of Assicurazioni Generali Head Office in Trieste. In 1993, he co-founded Genertel S.p.A., the direct sales (Web and Call Center) company of the Generali Group in Italy. From 1995 to 2000, he served as Marketing Manager, responsible for the Marketing Department at Genertel. From 2000 to 2002, he was a Member of the Management Board at Genertel S.p.A. (Chief Sales & Marketing Officer), responsible for Sales and Marketing. From 2002 to 2004, he continued as a Member of the Management Board, responsible for Sales, Marketing and Back Office Operations, and from 2004 to 2006 he served as Chief Commercial and Operating Officer, responsible for Sales, Marketing, Operations and Information and Communication Technology. In 2006, he became Area Manager within the Foreign Insurance Operations of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A., responsible for Germany and Switzerland. From 2007 to 2011, he was Area Manager responsible for Germany and Austria for the Generali Group. From 2011 to 2013, he was Head of the Business Coordination Unit (BCU) Central Europe (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and Head of Commercial Control & Coordination for International Insurance Operations (CCC IO) for the Generali Group. In 2013, he became Head of the Business Performance Management Unit (BPMU) Central Europe (Italy, Germany, Switzerland) for the Generali Group. From November 2013 to March 2015, he served as Regional Officer for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for the Generali Group, as well as Chairman of the EMEA Regional Executive Board, the EMEA Regional Risk and Controlling Functions Committee, the EMEA Regional HR & Nomination/Remuneration Committee, and the EMEA Regional Investment Committee. From January 2015 to May 2024, he was a Member of the Group Management Committee (GMC), the executive management board of the Generali Group, and Country Manager for Germany. In parallel, from 2015 to 2022, he was CEO of Generali Deutschland AG (former Generali Deutschland Holding AG), and from 2022 to 2024 he served as CEO Germany, Austria and Switzerland in the Generali Group. Since July 2024, he has been President of the Board of Directors at Genertel, and since April 2025, Vicepresident of FEBAF (The Italian Banking, Insurance and Finance Federation). Beyond his professional career, he was a member of the Italian national team in the World University Championships and World Junior Championships in cross country orienteering, and Italian champion in 1980, 1981 and 1983. He is a Member of the Board of the Italian Sports Federation FISO. His hobbies include running, skiing and mountaineering.
