Our School is pleased to host five MBA participants from the Crummer Graduate School of Business, Rollins College, as part of our Exchange Study Programs. Their arrival marks a significant learning experience with our community, as they join forces with four of our MBA in International Business participants for a challenging and collaborative week.
Under the guidance of Professor Guido Bortoluzzi (Marketing & Strategy), both MBA groups will be delving into the intricacies of Marketing Research Methods.
Their collaboration is aimed at developing a Global Consulting Project for La San Marco, an iconic Italian company that has been at the forefront of espresso coffee machine production since 1920. Way more than just a brand, La San Marco is a legend in the espresso world, representing the pinnacle of tradition meshed with cutting-edge innovation. Their espresso machines are a testament to excellence, leaving a legacy in the industry and in the hearts of espresso aficionados worldwide.
Both cohorts had the opportunity to visit the company, gaining first-hand insights vital to their project.
The group embarked on a comprehensive tour of the showroom, where they could witness the array of SM espresso machines, each representing a blend of tradition and innovation that the company is renowned for. The journey continued with a visit to the plant, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the meticulous craftsmanship involved in creating each espresso machine.
The visit culminated in the "Barista room": experts from La San Marco shared critical insights into the nuances of coffee preparation, emphasizing the importance of pressure, temperature control, and the distinctive characteristics of using both arabica and robusta beans.
This in-depth exploration provided the MBA participants with a comprehensive understanding of the industry's particularities, equipping them with the knowledge and inspiration needed to excel in their project.
The climax of this immersive week will be the presentation of the final Global Consulting Project by both MBA groups to the company.
This presentation, scheduled to take place on our School's campus, promises to showcase the insights, strategies, and innovative ideas that emerge from the combination of skills, research, knowledge, and experience.
