From 2 to 7 August, MIB Trieste School of Management will contribute to the academic and organisational activities of X-Culture Global Business Week 2026, hosting several sessions of the event on its campus.
The initiative is organised by the University of Trieste in collaboration with its partners.

The event will bring together students, faculty members and experts from around the world, connecting international management education with real business challenges.

X-Culture is an international experiential learning project, recognised with the Wharton Re-Imagine Education Award, that enables students from different countries to work together in virtual teams on real company projects.

Since its launch in 2010, the project has involved:
  • more than 130,000 students;
  • 701 universities across 115 countries;
  • over 16,000 international virtual teams;
  • up to 6,000 participants working each semester.
The 2026 edition will bring together a selected group of top-performing students, ambassadors and international faculty members.
More than 120 students from 29 countries and six continents will travel to Trieste, together with around 20 academics and experts.
Participants will include Vasyl Taras, founder of X-Culture, and Richard Griffith, Director of the Institute for Culture, Collaboration and Management.

The University of Trieste and MIB Trieste are both directly involved in the organisation of the event. Alongside University of Trieste Rector Donata Vianelli, Lead Host of the initiative, MIB Dean Andrea Tracogna and Professors Guido Bortoluzzi and Stefano Pilotto will take part in the programme
.
Throughout the week, participants will work in international consulting teams, addressing real challenges presented by companies and organisations from the local business community.
The business challenges will be provided by Assicurazioni Generali, Barilla, Modiano, Fondazione ITS, Associazione Caffè Trieste and Genuino.

The initiative reflects a core element of MIB Trieste’s educational approach: combining management skills, international collaboration and practical business experience, while creating opportunities for exchange among students, faculty and companies.

The School’s participation also builds on its long-standing collaboration with the University of Trieste, with the shared aim of developing international learning opportunities, supporting young talent and strengthening the connection between higher education and the business community.

The week will conclude on Friday, 7 August, with the final project presentations and the awards ceremony.
