London Study Tour 2024
Our MIRM students recently embarked on a study tour in London, gaining in-depth knowledge of global business practices and financial operations from top industry leaders.
The tour kicked off at the Bank of England, where students attended a presentation by Mr. Luca Blasi, Head of Risk Management and Controls and an esteemed MIB alumnus, on “NBFI (Non-Bank Financial Institutions) and global prudential risk,” providing a comprehensive understanding of critical financial mechanisms.
The exploration continued with a visit to the Lloyd’s of London. Participants experienced a guided tour of the building, learning about Lloyd’s Market operations and history, followed by an insightful session on Lloyd’s Lab innovation activities.
On the second day, the focus shifted to risk management at Marsh. Engaging sessions covered diverse topics from ESG and Climate Resilience to Cyber Security and Analytics, providing an overview of the current challenges and innovations in risk management.
The afternoon brought students to STS Insurance Brokers, where they delved into complex risk scenarios, led by experts in each field.
The tour concluded at Everest Re, where industry leaders shared insights into Property, Aviation, and Marine reinsurance, offering a detailed perspective on these specialized areas.
This tour enriched our students’ academic journey and offered valuable networking opportunities with industry professionals. We extend our deepest gratitude to all our corporate hosts for their hospitality, support and insights
