In the name of Data and AI with SISSA

In the name of Data & AI: a new collaboration with SISSA

Providing participants with tools, techniques, and knowledge to manage and use data to accelerate business opportunities and implement innovation: that's what our new Data-Driven Management Area is designed for.
By 2023, our MBA in International Business and our Master in Insurance and Risk Management curricula will include the Machine Learning for Business Analytics course.

This Course is organized in collaboration with the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA), an international, post-graduate education and research institute in Trieste. SISSA founded in 1978, is a scientific centre of excellence within the national and international academic scene, focusing on three main areas: Physics, Neuroscience and Mathematics.

Machine Learning for Business Analytics offers an in-depth exploration of advanced topics in Data Science, Programming, Artificial Intelligence, and Business Analytics, and is designed to equip students with the necessary skills to deal with real business challenges.
The Course covers a wide range of topics, including models, risk, likelihood, linear regression, unsupervised learning, supervised learning, ethics in ML and AI, and neural networks. The teaching methods include lectures, case studies, discussions, laboratories, and project work.

Additionally, the Course explores the ethical questions raised by the widespread adoption of ML and AI, and provides students with the necessary tools to critically discuss ethical issues in the field.
Through project work, participants will apply the concepts, tools, and methodologies presented in the Course to derive relevant business insights.

The Course is taught by:
  • Guido Sanguinetti, who leads the Machine Learning and Systems Biology group at SISSA
  • Roberto Trotta, group leader of the AstroML research group at SISSA
  • Sebastian Goldt, who leads the Theory of neural networks group at SISSA
  • Andrea Ampò, Core Faculty at MIB Trieste in Marketing and Strategy
