“I would like to express my appreciation for the Corso Origini, which will certainly provide an important specialization to the selected students. I hope it will support stronger connections between Italy and their countries of residence regarding cultural ties, economic relations, exports, and investments, with positive effects in terms of new opportunities".
With these words a few years ago, Italy's President Sergio Mattarella greeted the launch of a new edition of the Corso Origini, representing, like his predecessors Napolitano and Ciampi, the closeness of the highest institutional leaders to this important and particular project developed by MIB Trieste School of Management.
The Origini Italia program in Export Management and Entrepreneurial Development was born in 2001 as a unicum in Italy.
It is intended exclusively for the descendants of Italian emigrants around the world, and it is designed both to strengthen their cultural ties with Italy and to promote new opportunities for Italian companies in the countries of residence of the participants.
The course develops their management skills and entrepreneurial aptitudes and allows them to create solid networks of business contacts.
Typically aimed at countries of great Italian emigration, in particular South America, the course has welcomed and trained 340 young managers and entrepreneurs.
29% of the participants in the 21 editions have Argentine citizenship and 26% Brazilian, but there are also many Canadians (9%), Australians (8%), South Africans (5%) and Americans (5%). They are mainly young people with degrees in economics, and about 5 years of work experience. Many of them have started commercial collaborations with Italy.
The 22nd edition of the Corso Origini Italia starts this week, welcoming students from Venezuela, Brazil, Chile, and Argentina, but also Australia, South Africa, Canada and Mexico.
Participants are young people (the average age is 28) with an excellent curriculum of studies and good professional experience, mainly in marketing, sales and international trade.
They will be the new ambassadors of the Italian entrepreneurial system and Italian culture in their countries of residence.

For me, being part of the fourth generation of immigrants in Chile, keeping my family name and speaking the Italian language is an honour. But the real pride is that this was possible thanks to my family's efforts for generations and his commitment to instilling authentic values, traditions, work, honesty and family spirit. Every generation has sacrificed. I feel humble and grateful when I think about what the past generations have done for me.
After the experience of the Corso Origini we feel closer to our origins and to the sacrifices that our ancestors made for us.
