Developing innovative and out-of-the-box solutions for the global retail strategy of Polo del Gusto (Gruppo Illy).
This is the ambitious goal of the 2022 Global Consulting Project run by the team composed of 10 MBA students from MIB Trieste School of Management and Crummer Graduate School of Business.
Born in 2019, Polo del Gusto is the new sub-holding of Gruppo Illy that brings together brands of excellence from the world of Food & Beverage, that stand out for the ultimate quality of the final product and their marked sensibility towards all aspects of environmental impact.
The brands are Damman (tea) Domori, Prestat (chocolate), Agrimontana (marrons glacés, candied fruit, jams, and marmalades), Mastrojanni (wine), Pintaudi (breakfast baked goods).
The project aims at advising Polo del Gusto on the best possible evolution of its retail strategy, both online and offline. In autonomy from the coffee business, PDG needs to further develop its retail network through mono-brand and multi-brand stores, and establish a new and exclusive e-commerce platform.
The Global Consulting Project is managed by MIB Trieste School of Management in partnership with the prestigious Crummer Graduate School of Business of Rollins College in Winter Park (Orlando - Florida): the team is composed of MBA students coming from Italy, USA, Poland, Lesotho, Germany, and Colombia for developing a truly international approach.
Building on students' innovative thinking and entrepreneurial abilities, the international team will produce proposals that will be presented directly to the company. Taking on the role of a team of consultants, students will manage the project from initial problem-framing through to conclusion.
