
Strategy and Management Consulting
Three challenging but rewarding days have been scheduled for the Strategy and Management Consulting course, an elective that MBA and Masters participants can choose to include in their studies.
When it comes to strategy, experience is key. For this reason, MIB Trieste has invited Leonardo Totaro, President of McKinsey Mediterranean and member of McKinsey's Global Client Council, as our special guest.

Participants have to focus on the key determinants of a business’ success, and namely the “strategy”, the “leadership” and the “capacity to define and manage change”.
According to the book "Strategy beyond the hockey stick" there are a few companies which have been quite successful over the past years and thus belong to the top quintile of performers:
Apple, Microsoft, China Mobile, Samsung Electronics, Exxon, Johnson & Johnson, Oracle, Roche, BHP, Vodafone, Intel, Cisco, Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis, AstraZeneca, Nestlé, Chevron, Merck, Walmart, Coca-Cola, Qualcomm, CNOOC, BAT, Telefonica, UnitedHealth, Gilead, Sanofi, America Movil, TSMC, PetroChina, Anheuser-Busch, Audi, PepsiCo, Abbott, Unilever, Verizon, Altria, Amgen, Siemens.
The assignment requires participants to pick one of these companies and identify and analyse the different determinants of their success.

- The illustration of the typical engagements and key frameworks that are used to develop corporate strategy and transformation plans for companies
- The discussion of a methodology aimed at measuring organizational health
- A conversation on leadership
- A description of approaches and techniques for change management in modern organizations.
